Overview |
| 1) Import 3D-CAD File |

| 2) Create Solid Shape From Simple Geometries |
Simple geometry shapes, such as prism, cylinder and
revolved body, can be created in JSCAST. Modification of size
or the location of the gating system is also feasible within
JSCAST, saving the user time that would be spent going back
to the CAD software to make the modification. |
| 3) Add and Edit Material Properties |
| Physical property database with various casting and molding
materials is provided as part of the basic module. In most
cases, users can just select the material¡¯s name from the list. |
| 4) Meshing |
| Both automatic and manual meshing are available. By
using uneven mesh interval, solid geometries can be
meshed more efficiently (less elements but high geometric
accuracy). For example, using a smaller mesh for mold
regions close to the casting/mold interface and larger
mesh size for mold regions far from the interface can
significantly decrease the number of elements and the
computation time. |
